As a Prototype Specialist you will have knowledge of product design, manufacturing, mold making, casting, welding (TIG, MIG), finishing, painting, woodworking techniques, sheet metal forming, CNC programing and operation, 3D modeling and 3D printing. You will be tasked with the prototyping of all new products for Design and Development.
You will ensure your work promotes our brand by delivering high quality products on tight deadlines. Working collaboratively with Designers, Engineers and Production, the goal is to deliver high-quality products while meeting consistent deadlines and continually striving for personal and group improvement and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Prototype Specialist you will have knowledge of product design, manufacturing, mold making, casting, welding (TIG, MIG), finishing, painting, woodworking techniques, sheet metal forming, CNC programing and operation, 3D modeling and 3D printing. You will be tasked with the prototyping of all new products for Design and Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee prototyping and manage product testing during design and development of new product.
- Coordinate with the involved teams to achieve the project goals.
- Help to prepare designs and fixtures for delivery to Standard Engineering.
- Refine development initiatives using software, SolidWorks, Adobe Suite, etc.
- Liaise with Designers and Design Engineers to ensure deadlines are met when needed.
- Work with Standard Engineering and Manufacturing to transfer product development knowledge and fulfill manufacturing and assembly needs.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, tools, and techniques.
- Update the team and project stakeholders on the progress of D+D projects.
- Project Manage D+D initiatives with the use of resources such as email, slack, photos and videos, meetings, etc.
- Assist with process improvement projects in the PHX facility, in collaboration with the Process Improvement team and the Director of Operations.
- Graduate degree in fine arts concentration, preferably sculpture, metalsmithing or 10 years plus prototyping experience.
- Ability to lead a team to complete tasks.
- Proven work experience as a prototype, fabricator, machinist or sculptor.
- Portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficient in product design software, Solidworks, Rhino, Autocad, etc.
- CNC programing experience, Mastercam, Solidworks, etc.
- Experience operating CNC Milling machines, Thermwood, Haas, Fadal, etc.
- Strong aesthetic skills and attention to visual details
- Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with and lead a team.
- Strong Performance, Project and Quality Management, clear communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
